Renewing your vehicle licence disc

• Renew before the end of the month shown on your disc.
• Many provinces let you renew online through the official NaTIS portal (online.natis.gov.za) and have the disc delivered, or at a registering authority.
• Take your ID and your renewal notice (MVL2) if you received one.
• After the grace period, penalties and arrears are added.

Renewing your driver’s licence card

1. Book a slot online on the official NaTIS portal, or at your DLTC.
2. Take your ID; photographs and an eye test are done at the centre.
3. Pay the card fee, which differs by province.
4. Ask for a temporary licence if your card expires before the new one is ready.

Fees

Licence fees are set per province and change each year, so check your province’s licensing page or the NaTIS portal for the current amount before you go.

Avoid scams

Use only the official NaTIS portal or your licensing office. Private “agents” may charge extra fees, and fake sites copy official branding.
