Netstar has not published a public definition. In vehicle tracking systems, a timed event is usually a scheduled status report: the unit checks in at set intervals so the control room knows it is working, even when the car is parked. It is not an alarm. If you see repeated unexpected alerts, ask Netstar support to explain the event on your unit.
A heartbeat is a regular “I’m alive” signal a tracking unit sends while the vehicle is switched off, so the control room can tell the unit still has power and signal. Seeing one while your car is parked is normally expected. A missing heartbeat, or messages such as movement without ignition, are worth reporting to Netstar straight away.
