Dear Netstar, please cancel my Netstar service for vehicle [registration], account [number], in the name of [full name, ID number]. Please confirm the end date, any settlement fee, and the arrangements for de-installing the unit, in writing. Regards, [name, cellphone].
Netstar says a settlement fee may apply if you end a three-year contract early, to cover services already provided. Ask for the exact figure before you confirm. At the end of the contract term there should be no settlement fee.
Do not remove the unit yourself: cutting into the wiring can damage your vehicle and may breach your contract. Ask Netstar to arrange de-installation when you cancel, and ask whether a de-installation fee applies. Wireless units such as STARtag are collected or removed by Netstar.
