How Start Prevent works

Start Prevent is wired into the vehicle’s starting circuit through the Cartrack unit. When active, the car cannot be started unless you have authorised it. Because it is part of the car’s wiring, it must be installed by Cartrack’s technicians.

Things to check before adding it

• The monthly or once-off cost on your quote
• How you authorise a start (app, tag or other method) and what happens if your phone is flat
• Whether your insurer recognises it for a discount
